Dermal fillers

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers add volume beneath the skin. They can enhance the cheeks and lips or soften selected facial folds. Many fillers contain hyaluronic acid, which attracts moisture. We assess your face as a whole and discuss the amount of change you would like before agreeing a plan.

Lip filler procedure

Why consider dermal fillers?

Changes in facial volume can affect the cheeks, lips and the support around the mouth. You may want to restore some fullness, define a feature or soften a particular fold. The appropriate approach depends on your anatomy, rather than treating every line in isolation.

  • Restore or enhance cheek volume and definition
  • Discuss lip fullness and shape
  • Soften selected folds around the nose and mouth

Cheek enhancement

Filler can add volume and support through the mid-face, where natural changes to fat pads, skin and underlying structure can alter facial contours. We consider the balance of your features when planning treatment.

Nasolabial folds

These natural folds run from the sides of the nose towards the corners of the mouth. Sometimes restoring cheek support is more appropriate than placing filler directly into the fold. Your consultation considers both the fold and the surrounding facial structure.

Marionette lines

These lines extend from the corners of the mouth towards the chin. Filler may soften their appearance and provide support to the lower face. We assess whether other areas also contribute to the changes you have noticed.

Lip fillers

Lip filler can add fullness or enhance definition. We discuss the shape and amount of change you want, then assess which product and quantity are appropriate for your lips.

What to expect at your appointment

  1. We discuss your goals, medical history, medicines, allergies and any previous treatments, then assess your facial structure.
  2. Cheek and facial-fold appointments usually take around 30–45 minutes, including assessment, preparation and injections. Ask about the timing for your individual plan.
  3. Before proceeding, we explain the proposed product, cost, possible complications and aftercare. You will receive advice about recovery and review.

Results and recovery

A change is often visible immediately, although swelling can affect the early appearance. Allow the area to settle before judging the result. Many people resume everyday activities afterwards; redness, tenderness, swelling and bruising may last several days or longer. Results are temporary and their duration depends on the product, treatment area and individual.

Suitability and risks

Alongside bruising and swelling, risks include infection, lumps, allergic reactions and an uneven result. Rarely, filler can block a blood vessel, causing tissue damage, vision loss or stroke. We discuss suitability, risks and how complications are managed before treatment.

Frequently asked questions

How much filler will I need?

The amount depends on your features and treatment plan. The price list shows the available quantities; your consultation determines what is appropriate.

How long will the result last?

Longevity varies by product, area and individual. We will discuss an estimate for your proposed treatment and when to review the result.

Can I have fillers just before an event?

Leave time for swelling or bruising to settle and for any planned review. Ask the team how much time to allow for your treatment.
